Marionette is a pivotal character in the popular horror game series, Five Nights at Freddy's. Often referred to as "The Puppet," she is an animatronic possessed by the vengeful spirit of a child murdered outside of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Her appearance is striking: a slender, black and white animatronic with a painted mask-like face. Her tear-streaked cheeks hint at her tragic past. She resides within a music box, which must be constantly wound to keep her contained.

In Five Nights at Freddy's 2, Marionette serves as a primary antagonist. If the music box is not wound, she emerges to attack the player. Her motives are driven by a desire for revenge against William Afton, the man responsible for her death and the deaths of other children.

Later games reveal Marionette's integral role in the series lore. She is credited with giving the other animatronics life, stuffing them with the souls of the murdered children, thereby setting the events of the entire franchise in motion.
